Once again it is I, Porciini, The Magical Flying Pig. I have not squealed for awhile, but now I have something to be squealing about.

It is our Third Anniversary on April 5. Since our first show on April 1, 2009 we can say, we have done the impossible.

Taylor Martin's Indy Magic Monthly's Third Anniversary Spectacular is a milestone. In the past 3 years the show has presented over 50 different performers in 35 different performances, sold nearly 800 tickets, and have presented local and national magic and variety acts. Some of the artists have included Frances Menotti, Ran D. Shine, Krembo, Mike Powers, Jania Taylor, Patrick Smith, Cody Comet, Shawn Masterson, and Ron Fitzgerald's Realm.

April 5th is our third anniversary spectacular and will star, Indiana's leading illusionist Kevin Heller and Company, 15 year old champion magician from Kokomo Chase Cottle, and from Kentucky comedy magician  Cody Comet. Hosted by Andrea Merlyn, this promises to be a great evening of magic.

Coming in May 3rd we have Shawn Anthony & Jessica and Louisville's "The Action Brothers." And on June 4, for a special Saturday night show, we welcome Jeff McBride. Jeff will also be doing a lecture and a Super Session Master Class.

It all happens right here in Indianapolis at Theatre On The Square., 627 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis

Yours,
Porciini, TMFP

Dear Friends,

Porciini, The Magical Flying Pig bids you well.

Our producer, Taylor Martin, as you know has been performing for the audiences of Indiana and the world for over 50 years. In all that time, whether he has performed as Rodney The Younger, Conjurer or as Andrea Merlyn, Queen of Magic, he has never had anybody say he was performing an act inappropriate for their audience. He has toned down his presentations as a professional will, for the demands of the client. As Andrea he has performed for families, politicians, monks and ministers, and has never been told that his show complicates his being hired. He has gone out of his way to make sure the audience does not think that his persona insults the sensibilities of those that are paying to watch.

For nearly 5 years he's sent videos to The Academy of Magical Arts, also known as The Magic Castle. Through many changes in who does the hiring they have lost at least 5 DVDs and one of those was one of a kind. It was sent with the understanding that it was to be returned with an enclosed, stamped envelope.  They said it never reached them. And now, when he finally posts a video on Facebook, so that they can get an idea of what magic he can bring to them, he receives this response.

Taylor-

Per your request we have reviewed your video on Facebook and I have discussed your performance with **** **********, Director of Entertainment.  I can see that the audience loved your show.  There was a lot of laughter and applause.

Unfortunately, the clientele of the Magic Castle is extremely conservative which makes complications in hiring you.  At this time we will have to respectfully decline your offer to work here.

Thank you for your interest in performing at the Magic Castle and good luck with all of your endeavors in magic.

Magically,

**** ******

So, come and decide for yourself. The next performance of the show is at the 2nd Anniversary of Indy Magic Monthly. Come and see the magic act that will never play The Castle. Not because they may change their narrow bigoted minds, but because Taylor will never give them the chance to.

Yours,

Porciini, TMFP
